This project, carried out in the studio of University of Nottingham's Biological Photography and Imaging department, used different forms of artificial lighting to showcase and sculpt the features of specimens from the museum collection. These organisms can all be found on University Park Campus, yes even the octopus was found there! The lighting techniques used are: studio flash lighting, speed lights, light painting,  continuous lighting, LED panel lighting and mixed lighting- flash and constant.

Domestic dog (Canis lupus familiaris) using studio flash lighting

Common frog (Rana temporaria) using speed lights

Common pigeon (Columba livia) using light painting

Bumblebee (Bombus) using continuous lighting

Bat (Pipistrellus) using LED panel lighting
